I was a professional baseball player who became engrossed in exercise science after a major arm surgery. I started looking at training in terms of movement and energy systems involved. Using a more basic idea of total work capacity, loads lifted, and range of motion I watched as my pitching velocity and overall athleticism skyrocketed (using nothing but a barbell, rope, pull-up bar, and stadium stairs.) When teammates started asking me to train them over the team strength coach, I knew I had found a special calling beyond the baseball diamond.
After studying at the International Performance Institute and receiving my C.S.C.S. (the most advanced accreditation for strength and conditioning coaches), I started training clients privately in NYC.
I was introduced to CrossFit in 2007 and immediately fell in love with the program that was so congruent with what I had already grown to believe. CrossFit is the "Sport of Fitness" with a component of competition that drives it into a whole other realm. There is an emphasis on continual education and development for both coaches and athletes who are on a collective quest for fitness and human performance over broad time.
CrossFit has improved and enriched my life. The physical and mental training effect is something I would like to share with the world. You will forge bonds with other athletes and coaches in a journey through a program that will challenge you body and emotions.
